Well-being Risks In The Metaverse Era

Sumona Banerji's 2023 Thesis is preliminary research that uses various system frameworks to delve into the ways in which Virtual Worlds may impact the psychological well-being of its users and examines the underlying motivations driving potential problematic behaviour. This project hopes to change how online behavior of individuals and systems is understood and responded to in light of exponential technologies.

Technology and the Futures of Wellbeing seek to inform the Canadian Patient Safety Institute on how Canadians may experience well-being in the year 2040. This knowledge may be used to increase awareness among patients and explore further patient and user protection opportunities.

Systems thinking is recognized as essential in understanding climate science, political processes, energy consumption processes, and human behaviour. With the help of the systems design tools, we were able to frame these interconnected processes and understand how they form social systems.
